GreenSTAT Privacy Policy

Introduction to GreenSpace and our GreenStat Website

The GreenSTAT website at www.greenstat.org.uk (the Website) contains an online database that gives you, as a local resident, the opportunity to comment on the quality of your local parks and green or open spaces and how well you feel they are being managed and maintained. The survey also aims to provide your local council or relevant land management organisation with feedback about the kind of people that visit parks and open spaces in your local area, and how they might be able to encourage new visitors.
GreenSTAT is owned and managed by 'GreenSpace', an independent national charity (incorporated by Royal Charter and registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales under charity number 1108803, of Caversham Court, Church Road, Reading, RG4 7AD) working with local authorities and their communities to conserve and improve their public parks and green or open spaces. For the purpose of the Data Protection Act 1998 , the data controller in respect of the GreenSTAT Website is GreenSpace.
Greenspace ("We") are committed to safeguarding and respecting the privacy of visitors to our GreenSTAT Website. This policy sets out the basis on which any personal information you provide to us, will be processed by us. All data entered forms part of a national database available to analysis by GreenSpace and its partners, which include UK local authorities and similar land management organisations who have an interest in the management and improvement of public parks and open spaces in the UK (together, GreenSTAT Clients). If you provide specific written comments about an individual park or open space, or about a park and open space service, these comments will be summarised and passed on to GreenSTAT Clients. Under these circumstances, your name and address and the other Personal Information you have provided will not be passed on;
